Even more immersive than previous GoPro Field of view options

Curious How to Use HERO11 Black’s HyperView Digital Lens? Well, GoPro’s release of the Hero11 Black and Hero11 Black Mini has once agin changed the playing filed for creating content and capturing moments and memories. These cameras are packed with new features like the new 8×7 sensor, 10-bit color and new mini forum factor. Most notably is the new HyperView Field of View option. GoPro has always been known for their immersive wide angle lens and over the years has amplified this effect with FOV options like superview, Max lens mod and now HyperView.

What is HyperView?

The widest digital lens yet. When Wide and superview weren’t enough, they bring you HyperView. Great for action oriented POV shots, immersive selfies. This lens allows you to capture more of yourself and the surroundings. It feels as though you are zooming out to capture more side to side in your already wide angle lens. What makes this really special is the ability to adjust the digital lens in the GoPro Quik app after the fact. Select HyperView or 8×7 aspect ratio when you shoot. Then the Quik app, allows you to edit photos and videos to incorporate this lens effect within edit mode.

This lens works best when the subject is in the center of the frame and is only available in the 16×9 aspect ratio due to the camera recording in a more square aspect ratio and digitally manipulating the image into a 16×9 aspect ratio. The term ‘dynamic stretching’ has been used to describe the process. Bonus points for incorporating horizon lock which delivers a truly new perspective of stabilized video. Horizon leveling locks the horizon of the image giving the effect that the camera isn’t moving and stays continuously perfectly level.
