We all know and love the flagship cameras that come from GoPro like the HERO13 Black this year. The new lenses are the focal point of what’s new.

GoPro is now stepping into more than just wide angle lens attachments.  GoPro is building of previous generations of the ultra-wide and immersive lens Mods they produced for previous cameras.

These new HB series lenses showcase content creator stories featuring each of the new lens attachments. GoPro is no longer referring to them as MODs. The new lenses offer content creators more customizable ‘looks’ enabling more rich storytelling and enabling creativity on a new level never previously available previously. 

Upon the launch of the HERO13 Black, GoPro made available the Ultra Wide, Macro and 4 different ND lenses teasing the Anamorphic lens for later in spring 2025. All of these lenses feature auto detect which allows the camera to understand which lens is connected eliminating the need to enable/disable lens usage from within the settings like we have seen with previous generations of lens Mods.

Unique to the lenses themselves, the GoPro camera’s auto-detect also enables the adjustment of settings thus making them easy to use. Because of this, it helps to keep you more in the moment with your passion. You don’t need to be familiar with the technical details and cinematic settings. The auto-detect enables you to attach the lens and have the confidence that the GoPro will choose (or recommend) the best settings for the scene.
