What is Timecode Sync and Why do I need it?

Time Code Sync is a feature when using multiple cameras to help keep them all in exact alignment. When recording with multiple cameras, imagine editing the videos after and having your favorite moment exactly aligned down the exact frame and second it happened. Often times when we use multiple GoPro cameras to capture something, it’s usually because it is an epic and exciting moment.

Take a skier doing a backflip as an example. When the skier goes off the jump, and lands on the landing it can take a lot of extra time when editing the videos together. This is especially true when using multiple cameras to get all the moments aligned for each camera. GoPro Timecode Sync forces all GoPro cameras into perfect synchronization.

There is no guesswork or tedious alignment to get all the clips aligned and playing together in sync. It makes it so easy to cut between the POV angle of the skier approaching the jump, then cut to the follow cam angle of the skier when they are in the air.
