The Hype behind the DJI Transmission Combo

DJI Transmission Combo Unboxing is the first video in an upcoming series. At Full Circle, we plan to unbox, test, and eventually apply our findings to broadcast and live stream applications specifically in skydiving. This video is straight forward in the sense that we wanted to showcase what a user can expect when unboxing the combo for the first time. Making this video also helps inaugurate the new kit and make it easier to film less sterile / more dangerous applications. We also unbox the DJI High Gain Antenna kit at the end of the video.

Bringing Transmission Full Circle ? ? ⭕

If you haven’t already seen, we have an ongoing history of transmitting video for broadcast. Highlight Pro Skydive Team was monumental for Full Circle because they gave us a platform to apply all this technology. The goal was to incorporate the camera angle the perspective of a skydiver into a multi-camera, live video production. FPV drone technology and knowledge of transmitting video signals were the key components in our success. We were able to incorporate cameras on tripods (on the ground), with live commentating, on screen graphics, branding etc. This idea grew over time and with a few iterations and several 3D prints later, we created a video transmitter that was reliably transmitting signal 3000 ft. This altitude is perfect for broadcasting stadium jumps and lower altitude ‘demonstration’ skydives.

What this means for Full Circle

Ever since the success of our initial transmitters we have been perusing the goal of longer range at consumer costs. We have tried several transmitters since and have been narrowing the criteria of what makes a successful transmitter (and receiver) for our application. There are current solutions for transmitting video at great distance, but the cost is unobtainable for smaller scale broadcast enthusiasts.

This new transmitter is the solution to our conundrum. Ground tests are already in progress to confirm some basics before taking the system to the skies. We have been documenting every step and plan on publishing content on our findings.
